Tour: Mill Theatre, Thurso ...

16 September 2017

Starts: 10:00
Ends: 17:00

As part of Doors Open Day, Mill Theatre in Thurso will be open

In the 1960s Thurso Players, looking for a permanent home, were gifted the, then virtually derelict, Water Mill which stood in the grounds of Robin Sinclair, the then Lord Thurso. Thurso Players then spent many years converting the mill into a theatre. Retaining the Caithness slated exterior, the inside has been converted into a fully functioning theatre. The listed building incorporates an auditorium which can seat up to 88, backstage area, wardrobe, props store, sound and lighting box and a downstairs lounge and kitchen.

All areas of the building will be open to the public on Doors Open Day and there will be Players members on hand to provide guided tours and answer questions.

Further details from Doors Open Day website.
